Legendary Dining in a Legendary Place

The name says it all.
Since the Gold Rush days of 1876, Deadwood has been home to a long line of legendary figures—some who checked in, and a few who checked out, right here in the Gulch. Wild Bill Hickok. Calamity Jane. Seth Bullock. Charley Utter. Preacher Smith. They carved their names into history on these very streets.
The historic Franklin Hotel, standing proudly since 1903, has hosted its share of legends, too—from presidents like Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft, to icons like Babe Ruth, John Wayne, and Kevin Costner.
And the legend continues.
Each August, the Silverado Franklin Historic Hotel & Gaming Complex kicks off the annual Legends Ride—a charity event from Deadwood to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. Modern legends like Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Big Kenny of Big & Rich, and John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell have joined the cause, lending their names and hearts to this unforgettable ride.
So when you sit down for a meal at Deadwood Legends Steakhouse, you’re not just dining—you’re becoming part of a legacy. From our rich heritage to our renowned hospitality, everything we serve is steeped in legend.
Because here, the food—and the story—is legendary.
